March is becoming the month of madness, there are just so many things on! This Saturday, the annual URBIS DESIGNDAY is expected to be jam-packed with interesting installations experimenting with the idea of 'State of Transition'.
Coup De Main were able to snatch a few minutes away from WILL TAYLOR who is part of the MATTER team. Matter are collaborating with AUTOMATION ASSOCIATES, so keep an eye out for them this weekend!
Will shared a few thoughts about the 2011 Urbis Designday and what we can expect below...
COUP DE MAIN: How did your involvement come about with Urbis Designday?
WILL: Previous exposure drew us into this exciting event, and we enjoy working outside of our everyday. CDM: How is the interpretation of 'State Of Transition' for your installment going? WILL: Our response has come naturally. Our senses are treated as moments of transition to stimulate our state.
CDM: Can you give us any hints as to what we can expect to see on the day?
WILL: Transition materialised. Expect all senses to be provoked on the day. It will embrace, illuminate, and expect creation from all protagonists. CDM: What is 'matter'? WILL: It's all around us, we're all involved, all the time. Matter, is focused towards producing architecture, art, and events, that give on all levels.
CDM: What is your favourite part of your job?
WILL: Going on a ride with our friends, collaborators, and clients, and reaching a place that nobody dreamed of at the start, but all realise was inevitable. CDM: Can you share some wise words for the people that are weighing up whether or not to come to Urbis Designday? WILL: It's the opportunity to see designers play outside of their norms, it could inspire you to take the chance yourselves... and it's a great way to eat, drink, and be merry with-in our design community.
