'MTV STYLE' host RUBY ROSE has one of the best jobs in television. Not only does she get to travel the world as her job, she also gets to interview fashion designers, musicians, and artists - all to talk about their very own 'style'! 'MTV Style' airs every Tuesday night at 9.30PM (on MTV) with Ruby Rose taking you on all sorts of fashion adventures! Coup De Main had the opportunity to turn the tables on the lady herself, so we decided to discuss all things 'Ruby Rose style'... COUP DE MAIN: Who is your favourite designer? RUBY ROSE: I don't have one individual favourite designer. High fashion - I love Louis Vuitton and Prada. I love Louis Vuitton because it can be worn as high fashion and as streetwear as well, and Prada because it's glamorous. Australian designers; I love Dion Lee and Romance Is Born. CDM: Describe your own personal style... RUBY ROSE: It's always changing and it's always inspired by different things. I don't follow trends, I wear things that make me feel comfortable. However, being from Melbourne I love to wear black. I guess I have quite a big rock and music influence in my style. CDM: What do you believe is the worst fashion faux pas at the moment? RUBY ROSE: I don't actually think there is actually such a thing. If someone wears something that makes them feel good, then who are we to judge that? Fashion is different to each individual. CDM: Name your best experience/moment from New York Fashion Week... RUBY ROSE: It was pretty surreal when I was asked to walk Charlotte Ronson's show. When I couldn't make it in time to walk, I got to sit front row and watch Samantha Ronson DJ. Sitting front row at New York Fashion Week is enormous by itself. CDM: Who has been the funniest person you've interviewed so far? RUBY ROSE: Katy Perry and Lily Allen would be the two funniest people I have interviewed.
CDM: What are you looking forward to wearing this Winter? RUBY ROSE: Black. All black everything. Trench Coats, Black Boots, Leather Pants and Gloves. I love layering. CDM: Name your best purchase to date... RUBY ROSE: My House. As much as I love fashion I think it's important to be wise with how you spend money. It's always important to try and invest your money the right [way]. CDM: If you could bring one item back, what would it be? RUBY ROSE: Blue eye shadow - it was pretty hot, especially on Blonde girls... haha jokes. CDM: What's the best fashion advice you've ever been given? RUBY ROSE: Don't listen to what anyone says. You wear fashion because of how it makes you feel. It actually doesn't matter how much money you spend on clothing whether its a high brand or a street brand. Don't think 'brands'. Just think 'unique'. CDM: Finish this sentence: Fashion is... fun when you let it be. CDM: What can viewers expect whilst tuning into 'MTV Style'? RUBY ROSE: It's the perfect combination of fashion, music, arts and travel.
