![]() Chronicle Books have published AUTUMN DE WILDE's new book - 'Death Cab For Cutie'. I want a copy rather badly - two of my favourite things together - what could be better? Of her new book, the band have said on their official website: "In 2003, photographer Autumn de Wilde began shooting Death Cab for Cutie at a couple of shows at the close of their Transatlanticism tour. In the seven years since then, a collection of 200 photographs, conversations, and personal ephemera contributed by the band have emerged in the form of Autumn's new book, Death Cab for Cutie. The book will be available soon through the new online store with an exclusive, limited edition poster. More details to come, so stay tuned for information." However, if you're impatient and can't wait, you can order the book directly from Chronicle Books for USD$29.95 HERE. "Autumn de Wilde has been photographing Death Cab for Cutie for many years. Her close connection with the band began while shooting a couple of shows at the tail end of their tour for Transatlantacism. The band invited her to Long View Farm in wintry Massachusetts to document the recording of their album Plans, and a creative collaboration was formed. She continued on tour with them for that record and subsequent recordings and tours. This book collects more than 200 of her best candid on- and off-stage images, along with personal ephemera contributed by the band and conversations that illuminate the photographs and Death Cab's music. Autumn de Wilde has worked with Beck, Spoon, Wilco, Jenny Lewis, the Decemberists, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Girls, Conor Oberst, Norah Jones, and many others, and is documenting the life and work of the fashion designers Rodarte. Her books include Elliott Smith and The White Stripes: Under Great White Northern Lights, both published by Chronicle Books. She lives in Los Angeles." |
