DESIGN DAY FTW

URBIS DESIGN DAY was the equivalent to an adult version of Christmas; minus the advent calendar countdown and the 5AM, screaming wake-up call. Despite whether you've been good or bad, the day treated all attendees - to thirteen beautifully executed showrooms, a copious amount of alcohol and your very own chauffeur, just one of a fleet of diligent shuttle taxis - all for $20... some would think this was a dream.

Sounds like a small dose of Heaven, doesn't it?

We knew that we had under-estimated the magnificence that is Urbis Design Day, when upon arrival, the first thing we saw was an endless supply of Ferrero Rocher. Immediately impressed with the amount of chocolate available, I knew that this day wouldn't be a disappointment. Starting and ending at the complex multifaceted Ironbank was complimentary to the other wonders of the day, as the Ironbank structure is a perfect example of state-of-the-art architecture.

Honestly, there are only few better ways to spend your Saturday. The amount of inspiration from showroom to showroom was unbelievable; from 2000 hanging postcards, to a fantasy forest in the middle of Cavit & Co. One of the most captivating showroom collaborations with a designer, was definitely the work of Kohler and Zambesi. Their designed displays truly brought the showroom to life, with glamorously dressed models strategically placed throughout - definitely a sight to see.
