Last Saturday, the Coup De Main team all went out on an official outing to the 2011 URBIS DESIGNDAY.
The day was jam-packed of design goodness, an overabundance of beverages and luckily, beautiful weather. It was indeed the perfect day to be out and about, waltzing from showroom to showroom, marvelling at the incredible installations all the collaborators had worked so hard to create.

AUTOMATION ASSOCIATES + MATTER = Pure genius. Three boxes were set up, one for each sense: hearing, touch, and sight. The 'hearing' box was definitely my favourite - in accordance to where you were standing in the box with your weight and movement, you controlled the volume, melody and rhythm. How did it sound? Pretty revolting.
There I was in the top-left-hand-corner trying to play the percussion... while others tried to move as a group to adjust the volume/rhythm/melody. It was a hilarious few minutes of genius entertainment!

FISHER & PAYKEL + THE ALT GROUP = Food tasting! Hello all things sweet, we loved the cute mini ice-creams!!
POGGENPOHL + MAKE SOMETHING = A 'MAN-CAVE'. Upon entry, a host of this particular showroom explained to us that each kitchen represented different 'man-caves'... in accordance to taste in cars. There was a 'Porsche' man-cave, but this isn't it...
