You swear he has a crush on you... even though he's trying to sell you Sony's latest Bravia EX710 Flat Screen TV, the way his eyes meet yours, the way he tries so hard to impress you with his charm and good looks. How is it possible that he makes you want to buy that TV? SO bad.

Damn it. He's a young, attractive, and alluring... salesman.

Director Edward Zwick's ('Blood Diamond') - adaption of Jamie Reidy's book 'Hard Sell: The Evolution of a Viagra Salesman' - 'LOVE AND OTHER DRUGS' is an insightful look into the pharmaceutical sales community as well as the birth of Viagra under Pfizer Inc, in the late 90's.

Take me back to 1996, to meet Jamie Randall (Jake Gyllenhaal). Jamie is an irresistibly charming salesman, armed with a smile to kill. He is every women's worst nightmare. Well, most women, anyway. He's a selfish, game-playing, manipulative 'playahhh', who has a silver tongue that can sell anything to anyone.

Well, that was up until the day he met his match, Maggie Murdock (Anne Hathaway).

Maggie is a no-nonsense free-spirited artist, who lives in a 'well-used' loft, one could only dream of obtaining. Alongside her hard-case attitude, comes a vulnerability due to her early-onset with Parkinson’s disease which sets her up for unfavourable days, where even accomplishing the simplest of tasks comes with complication.

'Love And Other Drugs' takes you on a whirlwind of a rule breaking, prevalent chasing and love making (this isn't one for the kids).

It has the ability to remind you why you love to love. It's not for the way that it makes you feel. It's the way it makes someone else feel. The simple fact that someone out there needs you, to care for them, to hold them, to experience life with them. The feeling they feel when they are with you, the fact you're making someone else happy is what counts. For true love is a selfless love.

Coup De Main is proud to host three exclusive preview screenings of 'LOVE AND OTHER DRUGS'' on December 15th in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. Enter HERE to go into the draw to win a double-pass!
