 If you can't wait for 'Twilight' mania to be over and done with already, don't breathe too easy yet... new books-turned-into-films saga 'THE HUNGER GAMES' is on the way. "THE HUNGER GAMES is directed by Gary Ross, and produced by Nina Jacobson’s Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik. The book was the first in Suzanne Collins’ best-selling trilogy, which has over 12 million copies in print in the United States alone, outpacing sales for both Harry Potter and Twilight Series in the last year. It has developed a global following on Facebook with over 150,000 fans. Set in a post-apocalyptic world in the country of Panem where North America once existed, THE HUNGER GAMES follows the quest of “Tributes” – one teenage boy and girl chosen from each of the country’s twelve districts – as they compete in the Hunger Games. Part twisted entertainment, part government intimidation tactic, the Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which “Tributes” must fight with one another until one survivor remains. Pitted against highly-trained Tributes who have prepared for the Hunger Games their entire lives, the main character, Katniss, is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy.
