Taking the now ubiquitous modern day statement "I'll Google it" to it's logical extreme, DAVE WIGGINS has decided to use the search engine to answer one of life's big questions: Is there a God?

His reasoning is that if you can find out movie times, or even define the state of your relationships online, surely you can discover if the creator of the universe exists. His search quickly hits the roadblocks we are all familiar with when spending time on the internet - distracting links and discovering that while there is a lot of information and opinion out there, most of it is fundamentally insane. Lucky for us, we have Dave to poke fun at his findings while treating us to a thoroughly entertaining hour of e-theology.

The majority of 'Googling God' is a powerpoint presentation showcasing Dave's journey and all the quirks he found along the way. From Google Image searches to ROFL-inducing chats with an artificial intelligence 'God', Dave takes on a huge array of ideas and always finds the funny side. The danger of the show becoming just a platform for funny internet jokes is averted with quickly timed quips and Dave's own unique take on the subjects presented. Not all of the jokes land, but Dave is a confident and talented enough performer to always bring it back and get people laughing again.

Dave Wiggins is known for his clean and family-friendly style of comedy, and this show is no different. The religious aspects of the show focus mostly on the Christian idea of God, as Dave is a Christian himself, but it is all done in a refreshingly mocking way that will not turn off any members of the highly diverse audience. There is no moralising here, Dave goes for the laugh every time.

The crowd at the Limelight Lounge on a rainy Tuesday all had a great night, helped no doubt by the sugar rush of free Crunchie bars at our tables. We all laughed hard and even had some thoughts provoked, and I can guarantee we all went home to Google some of the stuff Dave showed us. 'Googling God' is an hour well spent by anyone who has ever used the internet for anything, let alone for answering life's big questions. Now forward this review to 10 of your friends in the next 7 minutes, or else you will stub your toe three times next week...

P.S. The show is way funnier than that last line I wrote.
