Dublin is awesome. I drank Guinness. I hugged a Leprechaun (against my will). I went to the seaside and saw a seal. Then ate a cupcake. I learnt some Irish history. I watched a game of Hurling. I listened to a racist rant from a taxi driver. I walked beside the main guy from the movie 'Once', on the actual street where he was busking at the start of the film. I saw some comedy. I played a very nice guitar. I saw a vegetable circus performed by two clowns. I was taken on an exclusive night-time tour where I saw Bono’s house. And Enya’s castle. Enya lives in a castle!
Dublin has a very similar feel to Auckland. It was perfect to visit after travelling for a bit. It was re-energising, a wee bit of home. I highly recommend planning a stop in Dublin in the middle of your escapades through Europe. It’s like a shot of Red Bull syrup*. (*submitted to the Irish Tourism Board as possible new slogan for Dublin.)
