Why I wish I still lived in 1989

The end of the 80’s was an amazing time for me. I was 12, obsessed with skateboarding, cartoons... and trying to put my arm around a lady. My imagination was in full flow.

When I looked in the mirror, I saw myself as Mr. T instead of a 5-foot white guy with one eyebrow. The walk to school was fun and safe! Well how could it not be, with Michael Keaton as Batman... and if he failed, I am sure He-Man would jump off my lunch box and smash some heads.

I was in my final year of primary school. I was the oldest guy at school. I was at the pinnacle of my rugby career and the five dollars in my pocket, could buy me a movie ticket and a McD's combo (back then fast food was not bad for you). I also had a crush on any woman who would give me the time of day, whether they were my age or even a hot student teacher.
I also dressed properly back then. My track pants had stirrups that went over my socks and under my shoes, with no chance of them ever riding up! Girls also dressed properly back then. Things like body suits were in fashion, with that weird dome that did up under your um, you’re ahhhh, you know where.

1989 was a time where I was always laughing. Disputes were sorted out with a punch that did not hurt and when you got an invite to Jenifer Quinn's pool party, you knew it would be an awesome weekend.
