This makes me SO HAPPY, like you don't even understand. Everyone thought I was crazy for even attempting to suggest to Bring Me The Horizon, that we ought to go comic-book-shop-photog-ing... NO-ONE thought they would play along. It was a day of insanity. I stayed up late doing research, so no sleep. Then early-wake-up for Noisettes interview... wait-waaaait for comic-book store to approve shoot permission. Then more research, skipped Uni. I think... then run, ruuun to Cancer Bats interview and shoot, with baseball bats, who also co-operated THANKYOU. Most bizarre moment; Cancer Bats fans taking their own shots of the band posing with the 'bats, on their cell-phones. I felt like I was in some crazy mock-paparazzi video by a hardcore or punk band. Wait, I probably was. Hah, joke's always on you; Sha. I stress, I stressss. I worry, I worryyyy that the band won't like me. That they'll give dreaded one-word answers, awkward glances and pay you no attention at all. I've grown up long enough around boys in bands to KNOW (no matter how much they'll deny it), that it is all about being ONE OF THE BOYS. Yes, Katy Perry has it right. You'll get no respect, unless you sprout tattoos and piercings to match. I like linen dresses and oversized headbands... Not exactly, what is ever expected... and I. I have to become a band's best friend for the next twenty to thirty minutes. I have to make them laugh, impress... and sneak in ticking questions that I cross my fingers they'll answer for ME, 'cuz we are the same age. It's an age-ist industry and we work really, REALLY hard. This week has gone from one amazing slice of reality, to another... and another... and, it's only Wednesday. 3:26AM, to be exact. You gotta be tough, play ball. I'm such a wallflower, strangers scare me. It's the most ridiculous irony I've ever known, somehow it works. But to anyone who's ever tried to intimidate us? Thankyou kindly for contributing to CDM lol's of the day. This is probably the most honest I've written in a long, longggg time. Don't get used to it :) FACT: Braid's SLR camera broke, halfway into the Cancer Bats shoot. We had to shoot Bring Me The Horizon on my 'lil digital camera. Honestly, bless Bring Me The Horizon for not caring any less and being good sports about everything.  |
