One of California's most influential and popular fashion bloggers OLIVIA SANTO-DOMINGO LOPEZ is only eighteen-years-old and currently taking the world by storm. I had been following her blog for years now and finally had the pleasure of meeting the lovely Miss Lopez at one of the Coachella parties out in Indio this Summer.

Olivia is by far one of the smartest and clued-up fashionistas that I've come across in the online world. She has thousands of hits on her blog per day and is one of the top babes that you'll occasionally see getting kudos on Lookbook and Tumblr.

GET FAMILIAR WITH THE 'IT-GIRL'...

VENUS: What made you start your own blog and how long have you been blogging for?
OLIVIA SANTO-DOMINGO LOPEZ: I stared my blog [during] my freshman year of high school as a photo diary and creative outlet to share travelogues with my circle of friends and inspirational bits and bobs. But I only started updating regularly with fashion-focused content in 2008. Technically, I've been blogging for six years.

V: Who are you biggest fashion influences?
OLIVIA: My biggest fashion influences are street style (Tommy Ton and Vanessa Jackman captures it perfectly), beautiful, one-of-a-kind vintage clothing from all parts of the world, French cinema, and 1960's youth culture.

V: Who are your favourite fashion bloggers?
OLIVIA: I really adore looking at Marta from Martalicious.blogspot.com, her style is impeccable and her travel photos throughout Europe gives me a little life-envy. I also love Jak&Jill and Textbook.tumblr.com for content - I love how John combines literature with fashion.

V: What do you like doing in your spare time?
OLIVIA: Going on road trips, (attempting) to teach myself how to play keyboard, learning how to speak German, exploring LA's museums and restaurants, and going to the LA Gun Club.

V: Favourite food place in LA?
OLIVIA: Where do I even begin? I love Le Pain Quotidien for fresh tartines and mixed drinks and how it's easily accessible since there are branches scattered everywhere in LA, I love Gjelina's in Venice Beach for their savoury food, I love Bottega Louie for the best & creamiest French cuisine (they also have the best macaroons), and Pete's Cafe and Bar in downtown LA for the most mouth-watering Grilled Steak Salad and Blue cheese fries. I think I just gained ten pounds reading over this...

V: I see that you're quite traveled and have been around the world a bit - which country inspires you the most (fashion-wise)?
OLIVIA: Fashion-wise Paris and selective parts of Italy have been my favourite place for people-watching. There's a nonchalant but put-together element in the way people dress there. It's always on-point and never too overdone.

V: What do you plan on doing after high school?
OLIVIA: Now that I'm out of high school I'm working on getting my business degree, launched my vintage site, and signed with NEXT - I'm hoping to grow with all of these new ventures academically and expanding my work experience on all of the above. And if my schedule permits, I'd love to keep traveling.

V: New York or LA? And why?
OLIVIA: New York for the endless opportunities, LA because it's easy.

V: Would you ever consider coming to New Zealand for Fashion Week?
OLIVIA: Without hesitation! From all the Kiwis I met at Coachella, I'm determined to visit the country that produces the most adorable human beings and designers, and the source of my favourite fruit.

V: Are you familar with any NZ designers?
OLIVIA: Lonely Hearts, Stolen Girlfriends Club, Twenty Seven Names, and Ruby.

V: Favourite shoe brand?
OLIVIA: Giuseppe Zanotti. I admittedly bought myself two pairs this month

V: Favourite label?
OLIVIA: I'm a huge fan of Shakuhachi dresses, Miu Miu accessories, and anything and everything by Opening Ceremony.

V: Favourite band?
OLIVIA: At the moment I love Rumspringa, The Growlers and The Strokes.

V: Favourite photographer?
OLIVIA: My favorite photographer is Lina Scheynius, Alex Prager, and Saga Sig.

V: Dream photographer that you would LOVE to shoot with and why?
OLIVIA: Saga Sig, all her photo-stories are always so well styled and conceptualized. On top of that, the styling is fantastic. She really has a great eye as a fashion photographer.

V: Dream model that you would LOVE to work with and why?
OLIVIA: KATE MOSS! She is the stuff of legends.

V: Advice that you would like to give out to people that aspire to be like you?
OLIVIA: Be your own muse! Personality begins where comparison ends.

V: What do you know about New Zealand?
OLIVIA: Kiwis, Easter Island, reversed seasons to California, genetically perfect men and women, and it hosts (what I am told) one of the most fun-filled fashion weeks across the board.
