Thanks for having me back, New Zealand...

mr. four square Thirteen months have gone by...
Of me living in the U.S., eating NUMEROUS amounts of burritos and sleeping on peoples floors... Knowing that your next meal is more than likely going to be a 99c hotdog and slurpy from a 7-11.
Appealing?

As Borat says, "not so much".

I am not going to lie.

As I was checking into my flight at Los Angeles International Airport [LAX], it was a weird feeling standing before the koru. Thoughts of NZ started running through my mind. From watching the Black Caps lose, to Tama Iti shooting our flag... Through to the classic dry NZ humour that Flight of the Conchords, have taken the world by storm with.

After having the tackiness of cheap yankie-advertising thrown at you from every angle imaginable, I can't describe how truly lucky we are here in New Zealand. Compared with overseas countries, there is so much to be grateful for...
From living conditions, to weather... To food, to culture itself!
It seems to me, that the only problem with NZ is that we complain too darn much... I have watched the news once, since back. Already, all I have heard about is "boy racers", "skateboarders" and a story about "a golf ball in a tree"... Is it just me, or is there constantly CRAP on NZ news channels?!!

Good golly... How about we cover something positive for once?
Like how "3000 young people from across the nation came together, to support the end to child soldiers in Northern Uganda"... Or how right now, there are thousands of amazing youth around the nation raising money through the 40 hour famine!

NZ I love you...
Believe me I do... and maybe I am going through American-detox right now!
But know how lucky we are... and that we need to focus on the positives.
Are you with me?
More to come...
Get ready for it.
