![]() A couple of weeks ago, SARA TETRO invited me to meet her horse AGAINST THE ODDS. Tetro along with her friend Sara Hughes and her brother Joel, collaborated to paint a 52kg fiberglass horse in support of the charity, CANTEEN. The horse is now up for auction on TradeMe - click HERE to bid - and you can read more about the Auckland Cup Week Charity Auction(s) below...
![]() "Meet 'Against The Odds'. His name represents the battle young New Zealanders aged 13-24 face when living with cancer and his colours represent their vitality and inspiration. Inspired by CanTeeners who get support from friends, family & CanTeen, Sara choose to collaborate with good friend and acclaimed artist Sara Hughes and her brother Joel Tetro owner of Sign of the Times, specialist in brand applications. By purchasing 'Against the Odds' you not only take home a unique piece of art inspired by NZ artist Sara Hughes, you take home the feel good factor knowing you've contributed to supporting young Kiwis living with cancer. You can also help us further by visiting 'Against the Odds' facebook page. The charity with the most likes wins $5000. Please visit the Facebook page HERE and click on the 'like' button, and help make a difference! The horse is 229cm long, 50cm wide and 208cm in height. The horses weigh 52kg and is mounted onto two plywood bases (one for the front hoofs and one for the back) so they stand independent of other aids. The bases are covered in artificial grass.
