As soon as I heard that IRIS APFEL was collaborating on a collection for 'M·A·C', the first thing that came to mind was the crazy-creative lady that was a regular subject of Bill Cunningham - the man himself - but more importantly the documentary 'Bill Cunningham', where Apfel made regular appearances in all her extravagance. What a fabulous creative collab with one of the most incredible interior designers of our time and a very inspiring self-stylist.
"A colour collection inspired by a rare bird who has always been ahead of her time, Mrs. Iris Apfel. Subject of her own exhibit at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art and larger-than-life star in Barneys New York windows, Apfel boldly mixed flea market finds with haute couture decades before doing it was considered de rigueur."
