No-one can call themselves a true JUSTIN BIEBER fan until they have slaved over their very own 'BIEBER' friendship bracelet.

I have no idea how I convinced myself that I needed to learn how to make a letter friendship bracelet, just so I could make a 'BIEBER' bracelet... But somehow I did, and as soon as I had convinced myself - that was only the beginning of A LOT of long nights ahead.

Apparently it's hard to understand twelve-year-olds describing how to 'forward and backward knot' (it's a friendship bracelet term - see below) on YouTube, better yet, they find it entertaining to SPEED UP their home-made videos. (I'm old and slow).

I thought I was in over my head when all I was producing was a heap of ugly knots in a row.

As they say, practice truly 'does make perfect' and five nights in a row of trial and error, I finally nailed my first attempt at the letter 'B'.

Long story short, is that I'm too old for this friendship-bracelet-making-craft. Even though I was successful in the end, I'm gonna leave this stuff to the kids from now on.

Instructions are below of how to make your very own 'BIEBER' bracelet.

You will need:
- Two different colours of craft thread (available from Geoffs Emporium & Spotlight).
- Scissors.
- Cardboard/Clipboard.
- Bulldog clip.

How to forward/backward knot:

Below is the specific knotting chart for 'BIEBER':

For this bracelet you'll need nine separate craft threads, eight of them need to be the same colour and length (I cut one craft thread into eight even lengths and that was more than enough), and the last one will be a different colour and the whole length of the craft thread.

The below image is how I set up my threads - using the cardboard and bulldog clip like so:

The bracelet should be the colour of the longest thread, and the letters will show through from the eight threads. You tie the opposite knot to normal, depending on whether you are going forwards or backwards to show the colour of letter.

It is kind of easier to understand if you watch the below video...

And it's really not that hard after all... right?!
