WHO'S THAT GIRL?: It's not enough that your dad is the legendary Quincy Jones and your mum is old-school babe Peggy Lipton (former Mod-Squad-Twin-Peaks star). Or the fact you grew up in Bel Air with BFF's like Nicole Richie, was voted 'girl most likely to succeed' back at school... and was formerly engaged to Grammy Award-winning music producer Mark Ronson AND graduated from Harvard.
While this may sound like the synopsis of one of those chick flicks some of us love rent to watch on a lazy Sunday afternoon while still in our lounge-around clothes - this is the life of musician, model and actress RASHIDA JONES.
She's appeared on shows as 'Freaks and Geeks', 'Boston Public' and 'Chappelle’s Show' - but she's probably best known for her comedic roles as Karen Filippelli from 'The Office'; nurse Anne Perkins in 'Parks and Recreation' and Zooey Rice in the movie 'I Love You, Man'. Jones has also made People magazine’s '50 Most Beautiful People in the World' list three times (in 2002, 2007 and 2009) AND is one of Harper's Bazaar's 'Best Dressed Women In America'.
Yet she's very grounded and down-to-earth and it's that attitude, that shines through her fashion ensembles. Let's break it down shall we?
HER STYLE: "I like to wear what makes me feel great, which can mean the color, or that the fit's right, or that it's just an interesting piece of clothing. I like to change it up." - Rashida Jones
Fit is key when it comes to pulling off Rashida's look. She picks clothes that show off her figure without revealing too much - classy, feminine, sexy and sassy at the same time. You'll notice she's a fan of the A-Line cut as well as the pencil skirt, yet none are ever too exposing and keeps hem lines a little above the knee at the most.
She's often in black or ivory paying special attention to diffeent textures: lace, silk; chiffon, sequins etc. - but then she'll change it up every now and then with some colourful prints.
I'd say one of her staples is definitely a blazer, paired up with skinny jeans and heels or a pencil skirt that never seems to scream 'corporate' but rather, 'comfy chic'.
HER ADD ON'S: Rashida Jones ain't one to over accessorize either, leaving her outfit to soak up the limelight! I've also noticed she's a big fan of clutch bags and always wears a ring on her index finger with a single bracelet on one wrist...
Whatever it is, it's usually simple, and never cluttered. I'd say her smile is her best accessory!
HER WARDROBE: Her preferences are PHILLIP LIM and MARC JACOBS. She also wears quite a bit of STELLA MCCARTNEY and JIMMY CHOO. Her day bag of choice is the classic CHANEL 2.55 hand bag. She also loves jeans by TOPSHOP and CONVERSE sneakers.
