THE DEPARTMENT STORE is a rare eclectic shopping experience, created by the brain-power of some of New Zealand’s most savvy creatives. Karen Walker + Stephen Marr + Dan Gosling (of Black Box) = an internationally renowned and fresh, collaborative retail escape. DESIGN | FASHION | BEAUTY | INTERIORS
It was another temperamental Auckland day, with the weather changing it’s mind as often as Lady Gaga changes her look. We began our adventure to the latest and greatest talk-of-the-town - The Department Store - wondering what we were to expect. Prior research had already turned up magnificent reading material, telling tales of a shopping experience like no other. For once - we were truly excited to trip out to the North Shore! On arrival, I was instantly impressed by the drum kit that was part of a display at the front entrance. Everyone knows, I LOVE the drums. This was a highly positive and promising beginning. I was happy already. We continued on throughout the store, only to be blown away by the extremely immaculate merchandising of all the products.
