LEONARDO DICAPRIO is one of the greatest actors of our generation. It's a fact.

We experienced growing pains and the coming of age with him as Tobias Wolff in the memoir 'THIS BOY'S LIFE'. We both loved and hated him as Arnie in 'WHAT'S EATING GILBERT GRAPE'. We swooned over him in 'ROMEO AND JULIET'. We loved and lost him as Jack Dawson in 'TITANIC', which became the highest-grossing film of all time from it's release in 1997, up until last year, when director James Cameron brought out yet another blockbuster hit: 'AVATAR'.

By then, Leonardo DiCaprio was already an international movie star. Loathing the 'pretty boy' tag, he almost quit acting after the whole 'TITANIC' phenomenon.

He then went to work on a string of highly acclaimed movies: Martin Scorsese's 'GANGS OF NEW YORK'; 'CATCH ME IF YOU CAN' under the direction of Steven Spielberg; 'THE DEPARTED', again with Scorsese; 'BLOOD DIAMOND'; and 'REVOLUTIONARY ROAD' to name a few.

With role models like Robert De Niro and Jack Nicholson, DiCaprio has taken risks with challenging character portrayals and as evident in his many great performances, he has really got his craft down! It comes as no surprise then, that his latest blockbuster 'INCEPTION' has been well received by critics. Rotten Tomatoes calls it "smart, innovative, and thrilling...'INCEPTION' is that rare summer blockbuster that succeeds viscerally as well as intellectually", leaving us in anticipation as we count down for it's official New Zealand release on July 22!

We've watched him evolve as an actor, now, let's see how his style has evolved!

AT PLAY: DiCaprio sticks with the basics - loose fit blue wash jeans, a polo shirt (black, white, navy or brown), t-shirts, sneakers and his trademark college fitted baseball caps and a pair of sunglasses.

His sneaker preference? NIKE's of course! His current faves? The NIKE Trainer 1 in a general release colourway (above left). And being the committed environmentalist that he is, this ethic is reflected in his wardrobe. DiCaprio opts for hemp and organic cotton clothing.

Not only does he have a penchant for dating models, he's also been seen sporting a different college baseball cap at every L.A. Lakers game...

If it's not Rhode Island, it's UCLA...

Otherwise there's Arizona State University and Virginia Commonwealth...

Jackets are another staple for DiCaprio - ranging from the classic leather, to athletic training jackets.

AT WORK: Leo is a big advocate for ARMANI and it tends to be his designer of choice when it comes to his red carpet events. He goes for a good fit, not a slim fit, and keeps it classic with navy or black paired with good quality leather shoes, plus a skinny tie done full-windsor and a crisp shirt.

He's a fan of the 2 buttoned suit with narrow lapels. And I love how he's gone without a tie at the 'SHUTTER ISLAND' Tokyo press conference this March (above right).

Leonardo DiCaprio sure cleans up good! He knows how to work it at events and keeps it casual and comfortable in his day-to-day. An actor, producer and eco-crusader. What's not to love?!!!
