The MADAME HAWKE Spring/Summer Collection 'Day' is designer Emily Miller-Sharma's first drop for this season. The range is inspired by the simple question - "What does Madame Hawke do during the day?". Miller-Sharma unmistakably answers, through the design and execution of her range. Or in her words: "Her [Madame Hawke] ever-present muse has materialised in the form of the daring and determined barnstormer, a figure whose popularity rose during the 1920's performing stunts and selling airplane rides from a hastily set up base in a local farmer's barn. They seized onto solitary towns and were treated as a welcomed disturbance to the hallowed hush of a close community."
My favourite picks amongst all the staggering pieces are: the white 'Bessie' dress with a lace-type print and the 'Amelia' beige biker-jacket. Definitely fun, sun-friendly clothes... now all we have to do is wait for Summer to arrive! The Madame Hawke range can be found in Ruby stores across the country and online HERE. |
