‘New Zealand Fashion Week’ 2011 kicked off with a bangin’ beginning at the ‘INGRID STARNES’ runway show!
The first model to walk down the catwalk was clad in a black velvet suit with mustard piping and a colour blocked top and belt - which set the precedent of the whole show. Each piece had individual detailing that set it apart from the rest of the collection.
To us the range portrayed a story of a 1950’s house-wife, setting sail to the seas on a fabulous childless vacation. The collection consisted of a mixture of muted vintage florals, military style gold embroidery, and sailor-esque silhouettes.
See below for more runway snaps...
Colours included: Mustard, black, olive, navy, cream, bright orange, peachy-salmon, purple, ruby red and a rose red. Favourite outfit: Clay printed top, cobalt blue coat, pinched in with the vintage floral skirt. Soundtrack included: ‘The Brunettes’ and ‘Antony and The Johnsons’.
