This year 'TWENTY-SEVEN NAMES' surprised spectators with an unconventional show, held at the Hopkinson Cundy gallery on Cross Street. With no models in sight and an exhibition style floor-plan, it was plain to see that a runway show was not on the cards.
Confronted with a collation of larger-than-life photographs on the walls, the night became a claustrophobic nightmare with about one-square-inch per person and in the beginning it was a mission to catch a glimpse of the Winter '12 'Take Cover' campaign images.
'Twenty-Seven Names' have their staple styles; peter-pan collars, ruffle detailing, pin-tuck pleats - to us they feel like a label that you always know what you're going to get - which for consistent customers is the perfect match.
In the 'Take Cover' photographs the hand-printed silk pieces on the foreground and the tromp l'oeil backgrounds create a visual camouflage. The colour palette displayed throughout the range was an inspired throwback to the 19th Century painting 'The Balcony' by Edouard Manet.
Check out the images below, as well as some snaps from the exhibition!
