Starting off the show with a potential panic-attack outfit, ‘ZAMBESI’ definitely wowed the crowd with their high-vis yellow pants, paired with a black knit jumper with a high-vis strip centre-back. I’m sure, like a lot of other attendees, I had a manic moment where I thought we were at the wrong event.
‘ZAMBESI’ = COLOUR?
Not only was their feature-colour neon yellow, but their colour palette also included cobalt blue, sky blue, cream, white, shades of browns and creams – the darker hues were prioritised over black.
Instead of referencing the past like so many other designers this week, ‘Zambesi’ offered a fresh concept that we felt was heavily inspired by the future. Another aspect that set them apart was their faultless tailoring – these pieces weren’t ‘one size fits all’.
Even though the range may have seemed like it was unfamiliar territory for the label, it still felt like a distinctive representation of the ‘Zambesi’ aesthetic.
Simple yet effective details that we loved were the neon-lining in trousers, silver studs carrying through from clothing to accessories, and the subtle alternative two-textured coats.
