For many, REAL GROOVY represents more than the being the largest local retailer of new and used music, books, games and DVD's. Since opening in 1981, Real Groovy has been set apart from the rest with its unique character and odd-ball personnel. To some it holds a nostalgic memory of waiting in the cold to purchase a concert ticket, to others it is the most incontestable shopping experience as they sift through the mass amount of pre-loved vinyl, CD's and DVD's.
Without further ado, I am so excited to share with you the news that AMAZON has stepped into the Auckland Real Groovy store, creating a graphically stimulating 'Amazon-esque' corner within the eccentric retail shop.
I whole-heartedly believe that it's a great affiliation for the Amazon brand, being aligned with music and entertainment in a more vibrant and pop-culture-centric environment.
The Amazon space exudes a similar personality to their relatively new Parnell store [click HERE to read my store profile] also reminding me of the characteristic D.I.Y. charm of Urban Outfitters flagship stores - filled with wooden crates, stacked retro-coloured boom-boxes, a broken fridge stored with accessories, handwritten notes all over the changing room walls and humorous 'Bearbricks' hiding in the most unexpected places.

Since the Amazon brand is all about surf, skate and denim, I've compiled my top five Amazon picks incorporating all three - including a denim jacket, cord shorts you can skate in, and some sunglasses you can wear whilst surfing. Okay! I failed in the 'surfing' department, surfing isn't my thing...
