 Seventeen-year-old CHRISTINA GRIMMIE surprised the U.S. music industry this week, when she debuted at #35 on the Billboard album charts with her debut eight-track EP, 'Find Me'. Considering that Grimmie is currently unsigned and her debut single 'Advice' is only being played by Radio Disney in the 'States and that physical copies of the album are only available at her shows, her digital sales success is proof of the online power that being the 7th most-subscribed-to musician on YouTube affords. For the record: that's seventeen million views that Grimmie's YouTube channel has racked up, as of June 2011. Christina Grimmie is the antithesis of her fellow YouTube sensation, Rebecca Black. Where Black attracted attention for all the wrong reasons, Grimmie was discovered by Selena Gomez's step-father (who is now her manager) on YouTube due to all the positive buzz that surrounded her cover-videos. Grimmie has been announced as an opening act on Selena Gomez & The Scene's upcoming U.S. 'We Own The Night Tour' alongside Big Time Rush, which kicks off in California on July 24th and will run for thirty-one shows.
