1993: BLINK-182 - back then known only as ‘Blink’ - form in San Diego, California. The band is comprised of MARK HOPPUS on Bass, TOM DELONGE on Guitar and SCOTT RAYNOR on Drums. This year the band released their first EP entitled ‘Flyswatter’ - listen to ‘Red Skies’ from the 'Flyswatter' EP below... 1994: Blink-182 release ‘Buddha’. Listen to ‘Carousel’ off of 'Buddha' below... 1995: Blink-182 release their first full-length album ‘Cheshire Cat’. June 1997: ‘Dude Ranch’ was released, the album which contained their breakout single ‘Dammit’. Watch the ‘Dammit’ music video below... February 1998: ‘Dude Ranch’ is certified gold! Later this year Scott Raynor would leave the band and be replaced by TRAVIS BARKER. June 1999: ‘Enema Of The State’ is released, only to be certified gold one month later. The single ‘What’s My Age Again’ sent the band into the Top 40 charts and saw their popularity explode. November 1999: 'Enema Of The State' goes double platinum and 'Dude Ranch' goes platinum! April 2000: 'Enema Of The State' is certified 4x platinum after the band hit the Top 10 with follow-up single ‘All The Small Things’. Check out the music video for 'All The Small Things’ below... August 2000: Blink-182 appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine and won a Teen Choice Award for ‘Choice Rock Group’. One month later, the band won a MTV VMA award for 'Best Group Video' and also performed at the awards ceremony.
June 2001: Blink 182 released their album ‘Take Off Your Pants & Jacket’ which topped the Billboard 200 chart. August 2001: The band won a Teen Choice Award for 'Best Rock Group', and 'Take Off Your Pants & Jacket' was certified platinum. 2002: The band hit the Top 40 with the single ‘First Date’, which was also nominated for a MTV VMA. Watch the music video for 'First Date' below... November 2003: Blink-182 released what was to be their last album for many years, ‘Blink 182’. January 2004: 'Blink 182' was certified platinum. February 2005: The band announced they were on an “indefinite hiatus” after Tom DeLonge left the band, due to wanting to spend more time with his family. November 2005: Blink-182 released their greatest hits album.
September 2008: Travis Barker was critically injured when a private plane he was on crashed off of the runway in South Carolina. Barker’s friend and collaborator DJ AM was the only other to survive the crash, which killed four others. February 2009: At the 51st Grammy Awards, Tom, Travis and Mark appeared on stage together and announced their reunion. The band promised a new album in the Summer of 2009, but instead went on a U.S. tour and postponed the album release. July 15th2011: Blink 182 released their first single ‘Up All night’ via Los Angeles radio station KROQ. Watch the 'Up All Night' music video below...
