Australian band SAN CISCO released their debut EP 'GOLDEN REVOLVER' in New Zealand this week! For the listening fun of your ears, Coup De Main is currently streaming the entire EP in our music player - which you can find on any page on our website, in the top right-hand corner.

The band cite Bright Eyes and Vampire Weekend as key influences, and despite their young age have already played this years Big Day Out and Laneway Festival dates in their hometown state. San Cisco recently wrote to Coup De Main to fill us in on all the latest happenings of their world in guest-blog form, which you can read below...

Despite the fact that we’re all holding back and waiting for Jordi to finish school, we’ve all been pretty busy:

- Sailed down the Margaret River, with good prospects of making it to the river mouth before one clever soundman decided it would be fun to capsize us.

- We moved into a new rehearsal space, which was a milestone for us. It’s amazing how many egg cartons, mattresses and lengths of carpet it takes to make a shed sound decent, however all the work of moving is well and truly justified with the honour of rehearsing in the beautifully lush gardens of the Biondillo’s.

- I think it’s these conditions that have resulted in the constant production of new songs, every band practice results in the start of at least one new song. It’s gotten to the point that when someone says, “alright, lets play the new song” everyone starts playing a different song.

- We’re off to Melbourne for a week in July to record another EP! Our wonderfully manageable management managed to convince Steven Schram to produce and mix us again, which means I can guarantee the next EP will be great!

- In the lead-up to this we’ve been playing far and wide, praying for a gig that has the backline provided as well as polishing new songs, developing secret handshakes and accumulating gear. The quest to find the perfect sound continues and each hard-earned piece of equipment brings us one step closer. It really is amazing how much difference good quality gear can make.

Stepping back and looking in, I’m playing music and working with people I’ve been friends with for a very long time, well and truly before any talk of playing together arose, it’s a huge amount of fun, the San Cisco future is looking bright and we’re finally in winter - it’s hearty soups and woodfire time!
