 BIG DAY OUT 2011 - PART l l BIG DAY OUT - PART III My first experience of the new Boiler Room was next, for a band I hold near to my heart - RATATAT. Amazing as always, I was personally really happy to see them receive such an enthusiastic and large response from the crowd...  Playing a set which featured tracks from all of their releases, my personal favourites were ‘Wildcat’ and the extended version of ‘Seventeen Years’ which included a guitar solo that was up there with the best of them. Evan Mast and Mike Stroud were full of energy, playing up the crowd's applause with their instrumental musings and energetic frenzy.  The new Boiler Room was also a nice surprise. With the sides being open rather than closed in, the temperature was bearable and those that couldn't fit inside the tent could still watch from the outside. Win.
