The clash of 2011 followed, with three of my ‘must-see’ bands all playing at the same time. CSS lost out, with my time from 2:40-3:30PM spent running between the Orange Stage for the mighty DEFTONES and the Green Stage for ANDREW WK. Deftones pulled an amazing crowd with those up the front going nuts, especially when singer Chino jumped into the crowd. With a set pulled heavily from their latest release ‘Diamond Eyes’, including ‘Sextape’ and ‘You’ve Seen The Butcher’, older fans were appeased when they launched into ‘Change’ from their older album ‘White Pony’. For a band who lost their bassist to a car crash in 2008, their set was a fitting dedication to their lost team-mate who is still battling through his injuries in a coma.
