Millencolin

The pop-punk start to my day continued on, with scene heavyweights MILLENCOLIN taking the stage. This was one set I was highly anticipating but approaching cautiously, as the last time I saw Millencolin was at their Big Day Out appearance in 2003 - a time when Millencolin were my favourite band - and a day I held dear to my heart. However with their most recent releases not exactly ‘tickling my fancy’, I was worried that the love and admiration I’ve held on to from their 2003 performance would be tarnished now that they’re older and well... not producing music as great as they used to.

Oh, how I did not need to worry! Not only were the Swedes on the top of their game performance-wise, they also played the entirety of their seminal 2000 album 'Pennybridge Pioneers', front to back. Talk about my 2003 dream coming true!

Hearing tracks like ‘Stop To Think’ and ‘The Ballad’ live was something I had only dreamed about and there it was, coming true, right in front of my face. My only issue - not being able to get nearly as close to the action as I would have liked, due to the INSANELY packed out Stage 3 area.
