![]() MELBOURNE REVIEW / SYDNEY PHOTOS: Some of my highest expectations of the day were reserved for THE SWELLERS, thanks to a few years of near-obsession with their musical releases. Opening up their unfortunately short set with ‘Runaways’ - the first track off of their 2011 release ‘Good For Me’ - the catchy riffs and energy coming from the stage really kickstarted the audience into concert-mode. Filling their set with songs such as ‘Inside My Head’ and ‘Best I Ever Had’ from ‘Good For Me’, as well as ‘2009’ and ‘Fire Away’ off of their 2009 release ‘Ups And Downsizing’, I was impressed with the near spot-on vocals of NICK DIENER and how their live sound only added to the raw energy put forth through their songs on their albums. Best Moment: "This is my real voice, this is a real guitar, those are real drums." Not so subtle digging at the increasing reliance on computer-aided vocals/instrumentation in music, The Swellers are 100% natural and proud. ![]() Best Song: ‘Fire Away’ - it’s been my long-time favourite and live it was perfect. ♥ Coup De Main hereby awards The Swellers with a Counter Revolution... "Everything I Hoped For" award. Check out more live The Swellers photos below... or click HERE to view the full album. P.S.
