MELBOURNE REVIEW / SYDNEY PHOTOS:

Love them or hate them, one thing is undeniable... ALL TIME LOW have some super dedicated - a.k.a. borderline obsessed - fans. The crowd at Counter Revolution was awash with All Time Low merchandise, and the floor was packed as the audience awaited the arrival of the Baltimore band.

Opening with 'Do You Want Me Dead?' and launching straight into 'Damned If I Do Ya (Damned If I Don't)' then 'Forget About It', their predominantly female fanbase didn't take long to scream, sing and throw their bras up on stage - an act that still haunts me as being fairly disturbing considering their fanbase is on the younger side of the scale. But through the bras, the high-pitched screams of "I love you!" and the somewhat inappropriate banter coming from vocalist ALEX GASKARTH and guitarist JACK BARAKAT, All Time Low proved why they've gone from playing in front of 200 people to over 2000 - they're talented. Say what you want about his banter, but Gaskarth proved his worth with a strong vocal performance and while at times I questioned whether Barakat's guitar was even plugged in, the audience were lapping up his energetic stage-moves.

With Alex and Jack stealing all the limelight with their on-stage antics, it's easy to dismiss drummer RIAN DAWSON and bassist ZAC MERRICK, but while they barely muttered a word or pulled any outlandish poses, the quieter duo are the backbone of the band and provided some solid instrumentation and a nice reprieve from the 'immaturity' of Alex and Jack. The band's older songs such as 'Coffee Shop Soundtrack' and 'Jasey Rae' received louder applause than the more recent tracks 'Time Bomb' and 'I Feel Like Dancin' - and when All Time Low launched into their final song of the evening 'Dear Maria, Count Me In' a full-on dance party erupted and it was hard to ignore/deny the stage-presence of the band.
