#49. YEASAYER - Odd Blood ![]() I’ll be honest, I’ve never been a huge YEASAYER fan... mostly because I never gave them a chance. That changed, when I heard the first single off of ‘Odd Blood’ - ‘Ambling Alp’. Catchy, and also musically interesting, I had to hear more. ‘Odd Blood’ is a tough album to define, which admittedly is part of its appeal. Tracks such as ‘Love Me Girl’ immediately bring me back to Ratatat, but then the very next track - 'O.N.E' - is reminiscent of Vampire Weekend with maybe a dash of The Rapture. And just like their Best 2010 Albums list-neighbours, Yeasayer are playing in New Zealand early 2010 thanks to a Summer music festival - with a headlining appearance at Laneway! MUST-LISTEN: 'I Remember', 'O.N.E.', 'Grizelda', 'Ambling Alp', 'Madder Red'. YOU WILL LIKE, IF YOU LIKE: MGMT, Vampire Weekend, The Rapture, Passion Pit, Animal Collective... and science-fiction for hippes. MUST-WATCH: Yeasayer's 'Ambling Alp' music video... ![]() |
