#44. WE ARE SCIENTISTS - Barbara ![]() Ten years into the band-life of WE ARE SCIENTISTS, their fourth studio album 'Barbara' marks the band's first release to feature the drumming of 2009-joined member Andy Burrows, formerly of Razorlight. On 'Barbara', We Are Scientists have returned to writing songs for a three-piece, and thus the album resembles the more guitar-hook centric sound of their debut 'Safety, Fun, And Learning (In That Order)' album, rather than any of the synth-experimentation of the 'With Love And Squalor' and 'Brain Thrust Mastery' albums. 'Barbara' proves though, that you can still always count on We Are Scientists for a good time. MUST-LISTEN: ‘I Don't Bite', 'Jack & Ginger', 'Break It Up', 'Rules Don't Stop', 'Nice Guys'. YOU WILL LIKE, IF YOU LIKE: Mystery Jets, The Futureheads, Maxïmo Park, OK Go, Razorlight, Editors... and reading newspapers ironically. MUST-WATCH: We Are Scientists' 'I Don't Bite' music video... ![]() |
