#31. THE NAKED AND FAMOUS - Passive Me, Aggressive You ![]() When we look back at 2010, there's a New Zealand band that sure takes the cake - the only local release of our entire Top 50 actually. It doesn't take any kind of mathematical equation to work out that 2010 was indeed the year of THE NAKED AND FAMOUS. The band are proof that good things take time - let's remember their 2008 'This Machine' and 'No Light' EP's - and that time can be spent just as wisely toiling away on a computer than on the road. 'Passive Me, Aggressive You' is a gratifying slow-burner. Listeners expecting thirteen different versions of 'Young Blood' will be sorely disappointed - but this is definitely not a bad thing. Naysayers, hush. You're just jealous that you didn't create 'Passive Me, Aggressive You' yourself... and that you're not nominated for the BBC's Sound Of 2011 poll. Boo yah! MUST-LISTEN: 'A Wolf In Geeks Clothing', 'All Of This', 'Punching In A Dream', 'Girls Like You', 'Young Blood'. YOU WILL LIKE, IF YOU LIKE: Metric, Passion Pit, Sleigh Bells, MGMT... and staying up late gaming then watching the sunrise. MUST-WATCH: The Naked And Famous' 'All Of This' music video... ![]() |
