#23. ARCADE FIRE - The Suburbs

Arcade Fire - 'The Suburbs'

It’s official: ARCADE FIRE have accomplished the three-peat. Releasing three amazing albums in a row is not an easy feat, but the Canadian indie-rockers have shown that it’s not impossible, with their third release 'The Suburbs' receiving extremely positive reviews as well as peaking at Number One on both the U.S. and U.K. album charts.

While one could be forgiven for assuming that an album named after the normalcy of life in the suburbs could be, well, quite normal... 'The Suburbs' still maintains the same energy and style of 'Funeral' and 'Neon Bible', it just may take a couple of listens to find it. At first listen, the title-track felt a little underwhelming - but it’s this understated beauty which eventually shines brightest.

MUST-LISTEN: 'Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains)', 'We Used To Wait', 'Suburban War', 'Sprawl I (Flatland)'.
YOU WILL LIKE, IF YOU LIKE: The National, Broken Social Scene, Wolf Parade, Sufjan Stevens... and dreaming of a life less ordinary.
MUST-WATCH: Arcade Fire performing 'Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains)' live at Madison Square Garden...
