#13. SLEIGH BELLS - Treats ![]() What do you get when you take one ex-guitarist from post-hardcore band Poison The Well and put him together with one ex-member of a girl-band? SLEIGH BELLS. The unlikely musical collaboration of Derek Miller and Alexis Krauss exploded into widespread awareness earlier this year when their debut album ‘Treats’ was released to universal acclaim. Who knew blown out drums and distorted guitars backed by synth-pop could be so awesome?! Breakout band of 2010? Sleigh Bells are definitely up there with the best of them and 'Treats' is just that, a musical treat. Best listened to loud, 'Treats' isn’t an album to have on softly in the background. It’s noise, in the best sense possible... and so, should be listened to as such - loud! MUST-LISTEN: 'Rill Rill', 'Tell 'Em’, 'Riot Rhythm', 'Kids', 'Run The Heart', 'Crown On The Ground'. YOU WILL LIKE, IF YOU LIKE: M.I.A., Best Coast, HEALTH, Wavves, Surfer Blood... and thug-as distortion. MUST-WATCH: Sleigh Bells' 'Infinity Guitars' music video... ![]() |
