#4. HELLOGOODBYE - Would It Kill You?

Hellogoodbye - 'Would It Kill You?'

Forget everything that you think you already know about HELLOGOODBYE. I don't mean any disrespect towards the band's 2006 'Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs!' debut - which for the record; I will always have a special place for in my heart - but forget that too. Hellogoodbye's long-anticipated second album 'Would It Kill You?' is hands down the best pop record of the year - and perhaps due to its late-year November release, it is also the most underrated album of 2010 as well.

Like a modern Buddy Holly, Hellogoodbye frontman Forrest Kline has skillfully crafted eleven non-stop sing-a-alongs of sock-hop-ish bass lines, grand brass and strings flourishes, and toys with synths and keyboards throughout the album more inventively than we've ever heard before from the band. Tracks such as 'I Never Can Relax' and 'Finding Something To Do' will make you wonder why Kline ever even felt the need to mask his vocals with auto-tune in the past - and 'You Sleep Alone' further showcases an emotional depth to his voice that may be quite a foreign concept for some to grasp. But hearing is believing... and 'Would It Kill You?' is simply too perfect an album to ignore.

MUST-LISTEN: 'I Never Can Relax', 'Finding Something To Do', 'You Sleep Alone', 'Getting Old', 'Betrayed By Bones', 'Coppertone'.
