![]() California-based singer-songwriter STACY CLARK had a musically fulfilled childhood. She studied tap and jazz dancing for fifteen years, played the clarinet in her school's concert band from the age of eight, and picked up her first guitar at the age of fifteen. I suppose it's to be expected, when your Grandfather played in a polka band and your Mother was an accordion prodigy. You might recognise Clark's voice from her guest vocals on Jack's Mannequin's last album 'The Glass Passenger', as she sung back-up vocals on 'Crashin' and 'Spinning'. Tracks from Clark's 2010 album 'Connect The Dots' such as 'Touch & Go' and 'White Lies' were among my playlist favourites of last year, so I sincerely hope that all of her television soundtrack features (from MTV's 'The Hills' to The CW's 'One Tree Hill') will pay off for her in 2011. YOU WILL LIKE, IF YOU LIKE: Eisley, Jack's Mannequin, Lisa Mitchell, Sara Bareilles... and long walks in the park. Watch Stacy Clark's 'Touch & Go' and 'Not Enough' music videos below... ![]() |
