![]() If we can ignore the mess that is 'Do It Like A Dude', then I actually have kind of a thing for JESSIE J. With her Kate Nash haircut, Lily Allen meets Katy Perry-esque charm and Adele-ish vocals on songs like 'Price Tag' and 'Who You Are', there's something about the twenty-two-year-old that makes me want to not write her off just yet... and, have I mentioned that she co-wrote Miley Cyrus' 'Party In The USA'? Jessie J is the latest in a line of UK self-fulfilling prophecies - she's the winner of the 2011 BRIT Awards Critics Choice, as well as the winner of the BBC's Sound Of 2011 list - but if she can prove that she has the sensibilities to put her voice to good use, then she's a girl that I could definitely be genuinely won over by in 2011. Watch live videos of Jessie J performing 'Price Tag' on Jools Holland and 'Who You Are' (in a New York subway station) below... |
