M.I.A.

M.I.A. is the latest to learn first-hand a lesson that Kim Kardashian and Ke$ha have already learned the hard way: if you're going to mess with the Bieber prepare for angry tweens and pitch-forks.

Earlier this year in May, M.I.A. told NME magazine that the latest Justin Bieber ('Baby') music video was "more offensive" than her own viral video for 'Born Free'. She joked that: "I find the new Justin Bieber video more violent and more of an assault to my eyes and senses than what I've made."

In an interview with New York radio station Hot 97, M.I.A. has since clarified that: "I said I found his video offensive because people said my video was offensive, but I said it as a joke and it kind of got out of hand. I kind of feel bad, because I have some family members who love Justin Bieber, and now they won't talk to me. I need my little cousins to talk to me."

In the same interview, M.I.A. also said that: "I left controversy at home. I don't want to be the accepted controversial person, which is why I left the controversial thing at home because it's not about that. I think people think I just say it to get press and that pisses me off, so then I want to say something about that, but then that's just keeping it going."
