![]() It looks like Fall Out Boy frontman Petz Wentz has formed a new band called BLACK CARDS. Wentz has posted a minute-long audio sample of dance-pop on the band's website HERE. Wentz posted a link to the new site on his blog, captioned: "this is not a test." The post went on to say that: "there will be no treasure hunt. not viral campaign. just the opposite- next week things will appear on this site in a very controlled distribution. if you enjoy it, keep coming back. if its not for you than we understand." UPDATE: Craig Owens has posted a cryptic video which may be a clue as to who the members of Black Cards are... In other Wentz-related news, I generally have a sound appreciation for the writings of Pete Wentz, but I'm mildly unimpressed with his 'Pandora's Box' editorial for the Huffington Post. Pete, get off your high-horse of 'hope' and go get your hands dirty in the Gulf. GO SAVE SOME WILDLIFE. 73 DAYS SINCE SPILL... 1,248 dead birds / 881 oiled but alive / 322 cleaned and released. 441 dead sea turtles / 102 oiled but alive / 3 cleaned and released. 52 dead mammals / 2 oiled but alive / 1 cleaned and released. You can check the daily tally of dead wildlife HERE. In his guest-editorial, Wentz writes that: "In this particular case of the Gulf spill, we need to look to a different form of greatness. This problem is too big and too hard to be solved by any one group. For this situation, we need to look to one of the kindest forms of greatness -- empathy, coming together and creating a union in order to solve this. A great example of this can be seen in the fight against malaria in Africa. We have seen politicians, governments, philanthropists, scientists, NGOs, and corporations come together because they believe that not only can they fight malaria but together can eradicate it completely. So, how do we do this in the Gulf? We need to see cooperation now and holding the right people accountable later. Everyday more and more oil spills, the problem is looming and pointing fingers does nothing to stop it. We, the public, need to see pictures, hear testimonials, we need to hear from scientists and experts in the field -- there needs to be more clarity. We need to focus on prevention -- this isn't the first time a severe spill has hit us, let's make it the last. This is not just about the gulf but our entire nation and ecosystem -- animals are dying, people are losing their livelihoods." Grand words Wentz, now let's see you do something about them...
