 We had a hard enough time narrowing down our top fifty albums of 2009 last year... so it looks like there will be even more (civilised) hair-pulling and name-calling come December this year, at the rate these new albums are being announced and released. DEERHUNTER - Bradford Cox, Moses Archuleta, Josh Fauver, Lockett Pundt - have announced the title and release date for their first full-length album since 'Microcastle' in 2008. 'Halycon Digest' will be Deerhunter's fourth studio album and is due to be released in New Zealand September 27th! In support of the upcoming release, frontman Bradford Cox has designed a promotional flyer for fans to download. Anyone that e-mails a photo of the flyer posted somewhere in their hometown to flyer@halcyondigest.com will receive first access to the new album's first single, as well as an exclusive non-album track. Bradford Cox describes "...always being fascinated with the ephemera of 70's – 80's artrock in record stores like Wuxtry in Athens where I hung out as a kid or Wax 'N Facts in Atlanta. You'd see a photocopied faded B-52's flyer next to a poster for Lou Reed or XTC. It was like an artpunk scrapbook on those walls. It made my head spin. Who are these people?
