 GOOD CHARLOTTE will release their fifth studio album in the States on October 26th, via Capitol Records. The album is entitled 'Cardiology' - which according to lead vocalist Joel Madden, is in reference to the lyrics of the new album which are "all connected to the heart". In the long-wait between albums for Good Charlotte fans, Madden has often reiterated that the band are going back to their pop-punk roots and cite the sound of Blink-182 as an example. In May, rhythm guitarist Benji Madden told Spin magazine that: "On this record we made a point of not thinking about what's going on in music right now, like the popularity of dance music. The new songs sound a little more old school, punk-y Good Charlotte. It felt right and I think our fans are going to really appreciate it." Benji also told Spin about how Good Charlotte recorded an earlier version of 'Cardiology' with producer Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance), but decided to re-record the whole album: "After a while I could just tell he didn't care.
