The Rocket Summer

Perpetual sweetheart Bryce Avary of THE ROCKET SUMMER is selling some of his musical instruments - a keyboard, guitar amplifier, and three acoustic and electric guitars each - in an effort to raise some money for a family in need this Christmas.

Avary took to his Myspace blog to inform fans about his auctions:

"I'm always stoked when a cool idea comes up to give back to fans and I'm always stoked when a cool way to give to someone in need is born.  While going through my studio after I got home from this past tour, I had an idea to do both.  I realized I have WAY too many guitars and keyboards that I really don't need, and at this point I'm concerned I could be at risk of ending up on that show Hoarders if I don't watch it with all the random gear I've collected.

Ever since I was a kid I have collected random guitars & keyboards and I decided I should sell some of them to consolidate a little and put the money towards getting gear that I actually need.  Right before I was going to post these items up online, I had an idea.  Instead of just selling each item for full price to strangers, I figured why not give you, our fans the first shot at buying these pieces of gear that have played such a huge role in The Rocket Summer career and why not help change some folks' lives this Christmas while we're at it by giving all of the profits from these sales to a family in need.

So here's the deal, I'm selling all of these items for considerably cheaper than they're worth and each dollar that surpasses the low sale prices in the bidding process on Ebay will be given to a family in need this Christmas.  Below are guitars, amps and keyboards that you have seen me play on tour, in the studio and that I have written many songs using.

I'm totally down to sign any of these items as well if you'd like.  Check out what I'm getting rid of...  Merry Christmas!"
