![]() Born on October 16th 1977, JOHN CLAYTON MAYER is anything but a typical Connecticut boy. He has dabbled in stand-up comedy, writing, and charity work. As a child, he loved 'Back To The Future' and was mediocre at best at the clarinet - but it is his adult life, which is something special. He is most famously known for his vocal abilities, and his tabloid bound love affairs. While it’s his love affairs which are more scandalous, it is Mayer’s vocal skills which paved the way for his incredible global success - and it is for this reason, why you should not miss out on his two New Zealand shows this April. Four studio albums, seven Grammy awards... and close to 13 millions album sales worldwide. Love him or hate him, the numbers speak for themselves. Mayer's. Got. Talent. Before the land of auto-tune and hip-hop turned pop, singer songwriters warmed the hearts of those willing to listen... with Mayer cementing himself at the forefront of imitations and similarly styled musicians. But while a large majority of singer songwriters have faded into the background, Mayer is still warming, and breaking, hearts of women (and I suppose some men) worldwide. ![]() Hitting Auckland and Wellington for two New Zealand shows only, John Mayer is a show well worth attending, if only to witness what the rest of the music world has been talking about. Just a few days ago, Alex Gaskarth and Jack Barakat of All Time Low, and Cassadee Pope of Hey Monday, were tweeting up a storm about how great John Mayer was in a concert they attended. Mayer may not fit into your chosen scene, or genre of choice – or maybe he does – but despite musical leanings, any appreciator of talent will not walk away from a Mayer show without some sense of respect.
