Its that cold time of the year again, when we freeze our butts off before stepping inside a sauna full of sweaty punters for winters premier festival WE LOVE SOUNDS, 2010.

WE LOVE SOUNDS, is set to mark the standard for New Zealand’s dance festival culture in 2010 and coming years. In a market where previous dance-raves have failed disappointingly (mainly due to supplying B class line ups) WE LOVE SOUNDS list one of the most acclaimed line ups to come to New Zealand’s shore (at one time), with a first time appearance by one of the biggest house heavy weights in the world.

Second time visitors Italian duo Phra and Bot from the Crookers are truly the underworld of their area. After an album release, which seemed to shock Crookers fans, their new love for Baltimore, crack house and dub step was made evident in the rather large collaborated album. It also lead to the Crookers openly criticizing a genre, they played a pivotal role in creating, it also happened to be their not so preferred club sound, I can only imagine what there sets will entail.

My other personal favorite would be the almighty Laid-back Luke. Dutch Producer/Dj extraordinaire who touches down in our shores for the first time is classed as one of the elites in terms of DJ’ing ability and stature. With a booking that sees him playing around the world at festivals, on the scale of sensations white and cream fields.

With a line up spanning over so many different sub genres of house music I think the atmosphere and buzz of a new unique venue will set it off to be a huge competitor in the New Zealand festival market.
