BROKEN SOCIAL SCENE. A band. A collective. A jam session between some of Canadian's finest musicians caught on record. Whatever you like to refer to them as, one thing is certain: Broken Social Scene are returning to New Zealand for TWO shows in August, following their Australian performance at Splendour In The Grass.

Formed in Toronto in 2002 by Kevin Drew and Brendan Canning, Broken Social Scene quickly became recognized as one of the most exciting talents in independent music, winning numerous awards and critical acclaim for their uniquely inspired collection of work. The groups one-off performance at the Kings Arms in Auckland in early 2008, saw six of their up to nineteen members rock out on stage, performing an epically long set (2+ hours!) - taking requests from the audience into the early hours of the morning - covering the entirety of their catalogue, ensuring that no-one left unsatisfied.

With the release of their fifth album 'Forgiveness Rock Record' earlier this month, the album has seen the welcome return, and well-deserved hype, of one of Canada's finest musical exports - and you would be silly to miss out on witnessing such talent in action.
