![]() Adam Young - better known as OWL CITY - is a busy man. His 2009 release ‘Ocean Eyes’ achieved multi-platinum sales, with that single ‘Fireflies’ taking him from a basement-bound kid in Minneapolis, to a global phenomenon... and the adored object of young girls affections worldwide. 2010 saw Young reach our shores for the first time in support of Cobra Starship, and clearly, we made an impression. November 13th will be a special day - not only is it my day of birth (gifts are welcome) - but more importantly to almost everyone else, it will also mark the date that Owl City return for the second time to New Zealand, for one headlining show only at the Powerstation, supported by fellow Americans THE ALBUM LEAF. Since his impressive performance in March (read our review of the show HERE / watch 'Fireflies' live from the show HERE), Adam has filled his time supporting John Mayer and Maroon 5 on their American tours, as well as releasing his recent single ‘Vanilla Twilight’. Also, word on the street (thanks Twitter!) is that new Owl City music will be released soon... and if that’s not enough, the kid also has numerous side projects. One of which - Sky Sailing - you can read all about HERE. ![]() The Album Leaf - signed to the legendary Sub Pop Records - is the solo project of Jimmy LaValle. Inspired by classical, jazz, and post-rock genres, LaValle has recorded five full-length albums, the most recent being ‘A Chorus Of Storytellers’ which was released in February to positive reviews. If you don’t know their name, you may recognize a bunch of songs featured in TV shows such as 'The O.C.', 'Sons Of Anarchy', or in the trailer for the film ‘Remember Me’. This will be the first time The Album Leaf have hit NZ shores - and undoubtedly, they will put on an epic performance not to be missed. Tickets are expected to be in high demand, so be sure to purchase your tickets early to ensure you don’t miss out. Plus, keep an eye on Coup De Main for our upcoming interview with Mister Adam Young, as well as an exclusive NZ tour photo diary he shot for us in March. COUP DE MAIN presents...
