Northern Ireland indie pop-rock newcomers GENERAL FIASCO - not to be confused with rapper Lupe Fiasco - have emerged as the next big thing for 2010. Formed in 2007 by brothers Owen and Enda Strathern, they quickly adopted friend Stephen Leacock, and began their musical journey. Immediately making a name for themselves with their fresh, catchy and infectious songs, music bible NME have since named the group one of ten “hopes for the near future”, and first single ‘Ever So Shy’ off their debut album ‘Buildings’ has been taking over airwaves worldwide.

Recently nominated for Best British Newcomer by Kerrang magazine, and hot off the UK Summer Festival circuit, the Irish trio will be making their way over to New Zealand for one show only at the Powerstation on Friday August 13th, with support from the Pistol Youth and The Jury & The Saints.

Tickets for the all ages event are a bargain at $45 (plus booking fee) - and on sale to the general public from Monday the 5th of July via Ticketmaster. We think these guys are gonna blow up big, so don’t miss out on your chance to see one of the best new bands of 2010 live in New Zealand.
